Brazil’s Biggest Cannabis Fair Returns This Weekend

This weekend, Brazil hosts its pioneering cannabis fair: the 9th Expo Head Grow. What began in 2017 as a modest gathering of headshops in Campinas has grown into one of Latin America’s most important cannabis events. Now, with Brazil navigating a new era of reform, the expo returns on August 23–24 at São Paulo’s Neo Química Arena.

The move comes just over a year after Brazil’s Supreme Court decriminalized possession of up to 40 grams and six plants for personal use. That decision, a decade in the making, opened the door to reforms aimed at reducing incarceration and reshaping public debate. Today, Expo Head Grow reflects that shift—bringing together more than 120 exhibitors, international speakers, and an expected 15,000 visitors.

Music & Culture

Beyond the expo floor, music takes center stage. Saturday features reggae legends Ponto de Equilíbrio, celebrating 25 years, alongside rapper Akira Presidente and DJs Lys Ventura and Lowe. Sunday brings Planta e Raiz, grime collective Brime!, viral duo Febre 90s, plus DJs Kokay and Justera.

Talks & Conferences

Panels will address cannabis regulation, patient associations, and communication in the digital age, featuring voices like Paolla Miguel, Cidinha Carvalho, and Fabelos. Conferences highlight cultivation, veterinary applications, solventless concentrates, and international genetics, with guests such as Dutch Passion’s Francesco and U.S. hashmaker The Dank Duchess.

A Decade In The Making

From its grassroots origins to a stadium-sized celebration, Expo Head Grow has become the longest-running cannabis fair in Brazil. “We chose Neo Química Arena for its accessibility and the chance to give this community the space it deserves,” said Clóvis Antunes, the fair’s commercial director.

Expo Head Grow 2025 runs August 23–24, 10am–10pm, at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo. Tickets start at R$120.
