Cannabis Voters Project, Helping to Legalize Marijuana

Cannabis Voters Project

Poll after poll shows that American are ready for full recreational cannabis legalization. A recent report by the Pew Research Center concluded that the percentage of Americans that oppose legalization is down to 32%. Those are great odds for you and I. However, this begs the question; If the majority of abled voters want recreational cannabis legalization, why don’t we have it?

Get Out The Vote!

There are obviously many different reasons for this and a lot of factors a play. One of those factors is undoubtedly voter education and turn out. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard cannabis users accused of being too organized. Luckily for us there is an organization trying to change that.

Cannabis Voters Project

Today we wanted to showcase the Cannabis Voters Project. As the name may suggests, they’ve dedicated their work to getting out the vote for cannabis. With an incredibly easy to use interface, you’re able to navigate their website and find the exact information you need in your state. Click the state on the map and start reading the bios of the political representatives coupled with their previous votes on related issues. I’ve seen projects like this before centered on different issues and it’s great to see this type of work and dedication around the cannabis industry.

Learn Your Laws

If you don’t know your state laws or your representatives, Cannabis Voters Project is a great place to start! They have a quick tagline which summarizes everything they do. “Cannabis Voter Project informs, registers and turns out voters who are interested in cannabis policyLaunched by civic engagement organization HeadCount.org in 2018, our goal is to get at least one million self-identified cannabis voters to the polls in 2020!”
