Moxie, California’s first licensed cannabis brand, has launched its premium medical cannabis products in Ohio. Moxie’s premium indoor grown flower will be available in Ohio by the Fall of 2023.

Rooted will be introducing a new product to the Ohio medical market known as Caviar Dots under the Moxie brand. Caviar Dots will be available in Ohio in July. Caviar Dots are a potent blend of ground flower, delta-9 THC oil, and keef meant to enhance the patient experience regardless of the method of consumption to add potency and flavor to even the most bland of other products. 

Moxie, GIP and Rooted look to take their approach to scale craft cannabis offerings in Ohio to the next level by providing patients with high quality products at affordable prices.

Perlow and his team seemingly perfected the model for multi-state operations, after successful operations in Pennsylvania, and most recently, Missouri as part of Organic Remedies-Missouri.

Currently, Moxie can be found in four states—California, Missouri, Utah and Pennsylvania. The company’s genetics are grown and packaged as cured cannabis flower, or processed into a variety of concentrates. The acquisition gives High Times new cannabis cultivation and production capabilities to complement our current portfolio of cannabis holdings in California, the largest legal marijuana market in the world, where we operate branded dispensaries and offer licensed cannabis products. The deal also makes High Times the most well-known brand in the Golden State with a vertically integrated cannabis operation.

“With our current platform of stores, we believe this acquisition will be synergistic in nature for the Moxie brands and provide a good home for their branded products in California,” High Times CEO Paul Henderson said about the deal. “Additionally, it will provide High Times with a cultivation and production team that has won dozens of previous Cannabis Cups, and other awards across the country. Moxie was the first cannabis company to be licensed in California and has since expanded its cultivation and production to legal weed states including Pennsylvania, Missouri, and Utah. Deal Includes Nearly 50,000 Square Feet Of Cultivation

Under the deal, High Times will take over Moxie’s California operations, which include an 11,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and 46,000 square feet of flowering canopy cultivation. The acquisition gives the company the capacity to produce up to 3,500 pounds of dried cannabis flower and more than 25,000 pounds of fresh frozen cannabis annually for High Times and our associated branded products. The deal also includes an exclusive 99-year license to use the Moxie, MX, and HighNow brands in California. In return, the Moxie organization will be granted 1,363,654 shares of Hightimes voting common stock.

Edery pointed to High Times’ flagship publication and famed Cannabis Cup events as an area of symbiosis between the two brands.

Ginger Commerce’s tech offerings have made it a coveted partner among California’s cannabis brands. The company says it serves more than 40 brands in the state with its “suite of tools designed to unlock revenue potential with e-Commerce software, direct-to-consumer delivery, industry-specific features, and marketing tools.”

Aleksey Klempner, co-founder and chief technology officer at Ginger Commerce, says the company “democratized cannabis.”

“Ginger enables entrepreneurs, content creators, and developers, from inside and outside of the industry, to build apps with cannabis centric business models, launch DTC brands, provide services, and essentially push the industry forward,” Klempner says.

In the press release of the partnership, both companies discussed the burgeoning significance of direct-to-consumer delivery in the cannabis industry, saying that it “has quickly grown into a dominating revenue channel for businesses.”

“With DTC, brands have unprecedented access and ownership of their customers’ data, and receive significantly better margins than in the traditional retail environment, or on 3rd party marketplace delivery websites,” the announcement said.

Ryan Jennemann, the founder and CEO of THC Design, said that the company “wanted to offer DTC sales for some time,” but that it “struggled to find a viable solution that would give us full control over our sales funnel as well as complete ownership of our data — until we found Ginger.”

“But what originally looked like the perfect solution to our DTC conundrum somehow just got better. With this new partnership with High Times, we’ll now be able to offer our products on-demand to nearly everyone in California, and that’s a huge win for us,” Jennemann said.

Competitor product submissions can be sent to Long Beach, California during the time period spanning January 17-21, 2022. And guess what? Judge Kits will be on-sale for online ordering across the nation on January 29, 2022. The judging timeframe runs from January 29, 2022 through March 20, 2022.

“The knock against solventless vape and live rosin is that the flavor usually degrades as you heat it and get through the cart,” he explained in a Q&A on the brand’s website. “Starts out amazing but ends up not so great. That’s because the ice water extraction not only preserves the full spectrum of terps and cannabinoids, but it also includes lipids and the undesirable stuff. We’ve been working on this at the lab for a long time and developed a natural purification process that removes the undesirable stuff that can mess with the flavor, while preserving everything we want to keep.”

In order to make this level of quality possible, the lab maintains close control over the entire process to create an awesome final product.  

“We’ve been setting up the Jetty Farm for a while now, getting ready for this,” Ferguson said. “We control the whole process now: getting the right phenos in the ground, controlling the harvest. That’s really important when you’re growing for solventless. The first strains came down in October and they are amazing. We flash freeze them right on the farm. We’re also growing everything we’re using for our UNREFINED Live Resin, too.”

The secret is in the processing. Experts at Jetty start with live rosin that already is at a high potency, an average of 80 or 85 percent THC. They also make sure that all the terps remain available throughout the process, leading to a strong entourage effect.   

“So it’s a unique, complex high… It’s clean, light on the body. It’s exceptional,” he added of the overall experience.

Red Label in Multiple Markets

On December 7, 2020, Red White & Bloom announced the launch of High Times-branded cannabis products in Michigan. On June 25, High Times announced the launch of Black Label and Red Label products in the state. Red Label vape products contain about 10 percent more THC than Black Label products.
