High Times Editor-in-Chief Nominated for His Second ‘Cannabis Journalist of the Year’ Award: Here’s How to Vote

Our editor-in-chief, Javier Hasse, is officially in the running for Cannabis Journalist of the Year at the 2025 Emjays Awards. Again.

Javier already won the honor last year, and this new nomination puts him back in the spotlight alongside some of the best writers in the game. The Emjays are where cannabis media, marketing, and culture collide, and we’re proud to see one of our own representing the power of the press.

This year’s show lands on Thursday, December 4 in Las Vegas. Farechild Events and MJBizCon are taking over The Industrial for a night that blends celebration, style, and whatever happens after the Orchid Suite After Party.

You can vote once a day right here:

Vote for Cannabis Journalist of the Year

Let’s be honest. We want Javier to win. But we’re not mad if your vote goes to Rachelle Gordon, Mehka King or any of the other nominees. We love them too. This space is big enough for all the real ones to shine.

Finalists for Cannabis Journalist of the Year:

  • Javier Hasse
  • Rachelle Gordon
  • Mehka King
  • Lex Pelger
  • Jimmy Young
  • Dustin Hoxworth

Whether it’s reporting from the front lines, digging into policy, or amplifying voices that don’t usually get heard, cannabis journalism matters. It shapes the way people see the plant. It creates culture. It builds bridges. And at its best, it tells the truth.

To all the storytellers out there, we salute you.

See you in Vegas.
