Mexico Cannabis Update – What is Happening with Mexico’s Weed Situation?

Mexico’s road to cannabis legalization has been stalled for two years. In 2018, the Supreme Court in Mexico ruled for the fifth consecutive time on a “pro cannabis legislation”. Within the Mexican Constitution, this automatically nullified cannabis prohibition. Lawmakers were charged with coming up with a game plan. While the court ruled it a “constitutional right” for every Mexican to grow and consume and possess cannabis, they don’t have the authority to dictate the regulations of the newly legalized marketplace.
