Over the years there has been much debate on what the effects to our economy would be with the legalization of marijuana. It’s not secret that the cannabis industry pulls in a lot of money. With any industry reporting the dollars that the cannabis industry does, there are going to be big corporations trying to fight it. However, new research shows that the legalization of marijuana is great for the bottomline. Turns out, smoking weed is good for business.
According to a study recently popularized by Cannabis.Net, states that have legal marijuana have also showed a dramatic decrease to worker’s comp claims. Not only that. When there were claims made, and large drop in time spent off work also occurred. The shows that there is a correlations between the legalization of marijuana and an increase of job productivity.
That alone should be enough for any business to loosen the grip on their “drug” policy. Smoking marijuana is soon becoming no so taboo anymore. And let’s face it, drug tests are expensive. We could quickly be seeing a future where large corporations and small businesses are saving money on worker’s comp and decreased drug tests.
