A vape pen is a portable device for turning dry herb, oil, wax or other concentrates into a vapor that can be inhaled. While dry herb vapes are commonly used for the benefits of smoking without combustion properties, vape pen batteries are most commonly used for oils. When referring to a “vape pen”, most often people specifically mean the battery of a vaporizer, although a battery will need to be used in combination with a cartridge or other type of vessel containing the substance to be vaporized. There are countless vape battery designs and styles, but the most common is a cylinder-shaped battery that resembles a classic ink pen for writing, thus resulting in widespread use of the term, “vape pen”.
