Cultivations of plants in space are not new but sending cannabis plants to space is a breakthrough. Conditions in space are very different and much harsher than on earth. Seeds need to overcome cosmic and ultraviolet radiation exposure. Apart from the above-mentioned microgravity, they will also be under much lower pressure than on earth. Scientists expect plants to undergo various mutations.
